MERCEDES BENZ

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz
My friends all drive Porsches I must make amends
Worked hard all my lifetime
No help from my friends
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz

Fred,
It was the first thing that came into my head when Rog said "write something and we'll check it out to see if the blogsites working as it should". My apologies to Janis Joplin and I guess only those who remember her or studied poetry in the senior form handbook "Form and Feeling" by Elaine Hamilton and John Livingston will remember the seminal lines of the song written by JJ, Michael McClure and Bobby Neuwirth. There you are ... I've acknowledge in full the origins of the words. It's a great song of whimsy and its why I like fine purveyors of whimsical songs like Loudon Wainwright, Ray Stevens even Bob Sir Geldorf and his "Great song of Indifference" for example.
